This was almost 34 years ago. One of the largest protests in New York history.

On June 12, 1982, Anti Nuclear protesters filled Central Park, upwards of one million people gathered on the Great Lawn

to peacefully rally against nuclear weapons and the nuclear arms race that continued to rage between the United States and the Soviet Union.

The protest called for complete disarmament of U.S. weapons and an end to the arms race that perpetuated the long-standing Cold War.

I thought this would be suitable today to share in light of our current state of affairs and it's upheaval of what many see as ominous days ahead.

Nuclear waste and weapons were and still does cast a dark cloud over the planet and mankind. Decades later it still remains a threat, for new and various reasons.

It seems the radio station was having technical difficulties which caused the first track to start in progress.

Track 20 Plutonium Is Forever, has a small tape cut @ 0:42.

The last song "Get Together" (The Youngbloods cover), is nearly complete as it cuts off at the very end of tape.

There is some video footage which you can find. I've watched it and the video's audio is a completely different mix/source.

I've choosen not to do any pitch correction, since the FM tape sounds very, very close to the pro-shot video.

In fact, I've given you a sample of the audio taken from the video and this FM tape. Notice how different they sound. Which one do you like better?

Obviously this is not the whole show, just a big chunk of it. The start of the show actually had Orson Wells talking for about 12 minutes to the crowd.

One song I know is missing is a duet with Linda and James, "I Think Its Gonna Work Out Fine". is not included here.

Check out all the big names and that set list, wow!!!

Thanks goes to BR for taping this off the radio so many years ago.
