Odetta, "Salzburger Jazzherbst", Salzburg, A, Nov 1, 2002
Landestheater, Salzburg, Austria
Odetta Holmes, (December 31, 1930 – December 2, 2008), vocals
Charles Giordano, piano
I received this from a fellow Hungercitizen (thanks a lot! You know who you are...) - I was duly forewarned by him that this broadcast "features"
an especially "talented" (i. e. inept) German language (Austrian) announcer/commentator who commented each and every track in his inimitable
pseudo-learned way (treating us to his "wisdom" and managing to mispronounce just about every other English he used).
For this reason, I torrent this in two formats,
an unedited version (mostly for German-speaking card-holding and practising bona-fide masochists)
and an edited version (music only) for connoisseurs of Odetta's voice and music.
I retracked everything in CDWave and applied some fades on the tracks of the edited version in Sony Soundforge 8.0.
The quality of the recording and Odetta's performance are near excellent.
