Old And In The Way
SAT 04/27/74
Golden State Country Bluegrass Festival - San Rafael, CA
Recording: AUD - MA?>?>D>CD
Set One
01 - High Lonesome Sound
02 - Pig In A Pen
03 - Panama Red
04 - Wild Horses
05 - Hobo Song
Comments: This was a complete set (around 30 minutes). Doc
Watson performed before O&ITW and Jim and Jesse McReynolds
and the Virginia Boys performed after O&ITW. The same setlist
for this tape and also 04/28/74 make it a little suspicious.
admin note, 1/30/2011: the song names are about the only correct information in the above info file. There was no OAITW set on 4/27/74. The only OAITW set of the festival was on Sun. 4/28/74, to close out the festival. It doesn't matter what your info files say ... trust us. So the above comment, that Jim & Jesse followed OAITW, is just patently incorrect. One can hear continuous tape from the end of Hobo Song to whatt are clearly festival-ending comments from the stage. Also, this is not an aud, but a significantly degraded soundboard. High Lonesome Sound cuts in, and this whole thing is running about 6% slow ... ouch.
