TheCommish notes:
Pablo Cruise was one of the few bands I really like that I had never seen before. They used to tour in New Jersey frequently during their heyday in the late 70s and very early 80s but hadn't played The Garden State since. Fortunately, the band decided to leave the comforts of home in California this summer for a really short mini-tour (seven stops) outside The Golden State. And a big plus was the fact that 3 of the 4 guys in the band are original Pablo Cruise members.

I was thrilled to finally have the opportunity to see them live, and my cohort, Sammy, was almost equally thrilled despite having seen them before, albeit 3+ decades ago on the "Worlds Away" tour.

The audience for this show was, unfortunately, extremely sparse: the theater was roughly one-quarter full. But to the credit of the guys in Pablo Cruise, they didn't just mail it in; instead, they gave our thin crowd one hell of a show. The band's performance deserved a sold-out theater.

Sammy and I were highly impressed with the musicianship that these guys displayed. Dave Jenkins played some terrific guitar solos (though, to be fair, Dave's voice is showing its age just a little bit), Cory Lerios did a fine job on both the keys as well as with "hosting" the show with his funny between-song banter, Steve Price was POUNDING his drum kit all night, and the newest guy in the band, bass player Larry Antonino, did a great job on vocals and bass.

If you ever get the chance to see Pablo Cruise, please do. They STILL put on a really entertaining show.

If you like this torrent, won't you please take a moment to post a comment on the board? It only takes a moment, and believe me, it takes A LOT longer to prepare/upload a show for others to enjoy than it does to download and run.
