Pamyua (BUM-you-uh) is an a Native Alaskan group (and Karina from Greenland)
that began in Bethel in Western Alaska. Brothers Stephen and Phillip
began converting traditional Yupik songs to hip hop, soul, and a capella
styles. Their first album, "Caught in the Act," won Record of the
Year at the Native American Music Awards in 2003. They continue to
travel and perform across the globe.
