This was my second time seeing Pat and Neil after being blown away by them
when they performed in Akron back in 2022. 3 years later and the set was
changed quite a bit. 7 songs were swapped out for 5 different songs in
Columbus. So, the set was roughly 10 minutes shorter. I really enjoyed the
different songs, especially "Go", a 2003 track I was not familiar with.
"Disconnected" (from 1993) was also great. She even performed a new song,
"Come Together" (which may be a working title), which was a wonderful
welcome to the set. The acoustics in the Mershon were not what they should
have been 10 rows back from a huge hanging stack, but if you crank it, it
sounds OK. I felt it should have been louder and that the mix was a bit
muddy. Pat's vocals could have been higher and trying to hear her speak
in between songs was hard at times. I did raise some of that in the post
edit. I had a drunk clapper to my direct left (who decided to clap along
to most of the show) off beat, mind you. The only time she was not clapping
was during her bathroom breaks (thank god!), when she had her phone in the
air (most of the big hits) or when she was drinking her vodka and sodas. So
I did spend quite a bit of time in iZotope RX7 removing them as they really
made playback unenjoyable. The first 4 songs were the worst. I removed as
many yelps of hers as I could, as well. There was no EQ needed. Sometimes
the taping gods do not smile down upon thee - it happens. Crank it!
The Vindys opened. [recorded].
