After the blast I had catching Bryan Adams in the UK, I was excited to come back and see a couple of shows on the US tour. I had only intended to see 1, because I'm not made of $, but as luck would have it my job sent me to North Carolina for the first week of November. I finessed a couple of tickets, and suddenly I was taking my friend to see Bryan for her birthday, on his birthday!
North Carolina was a new state for me as a taper, and the Lenovo Center felt very old school. They had traffic locked down, and it didn't feel as modern as a lot of the other venues I've seen. From my point of view, this was actually a cool blast from the past. It reminded me of seeing shows at Freedom Hall when I was a kid. We actually got in early enough to hear some of Pat's soundcheck, though not clearly enough to warrant a recording.
Bryan always seems to tour with an opener in the US, but presumably doesn't need one abroad because everyone has better music taste than Americans. Pat and Neil put on a cool performance, and I enjoyed having the opportunity to see them. Pat is one of the quintessential classic rock artists, so I'm very grateful for the opportunity to witness her in action. Pat sounded fresher and more energetic than Nashville, likely due to the day off on November 4, but her and the band sounded really strong both nights. The recording of her set didn't come out quite as strong due to my slightly further taping position, and some very nice, but also very loud people who sat down next to me during the penultimate song. I switched seats with them for Bryan's set.

I would like to include a heartfelt thank you to the people over at Setlist.FM for constantly doing their best to update and accurately post setlists from every show possible. Everyone makes mistakes (and they're known for it) but they have helped me immensely in writing up track listings for my show, and lots of the information found accompanying my shows is thanks to them. Whether I have used Setlist.FM to collect information for this particular show or not, they deserve so many thanks for all the help they have given me in the past.
Finally, the confusion regarding the legality of recording concerts is because of those who sell them. I do not condone selling freely-shared live music, and blame those who sell concerts for the lack of people recording and sharing content, as well as for the bad reputation society places upon those of us who do. Let it also be noted that any who sell this recording deserve nothing more than to have their own collection confiscated and shared freely with the masses. Please only degrade audio quality for personal use. Also, I ask that you keep this info file intact.
