Here's the PMG from the Imaginary Day tour. This one doesn't seem to be as widely circulated as a few others, and I got this in a long ago snail mail trade (thanks to the trader, and whoever recorded the show). I've got a show of the PMG from the day before in Boston, and this one sounds a bit better to me. They also didn't play To the End of the World in Boston. There's also a sbd from a couple of days after this in Washington DC. The Washington recording has a pretty similar setlist, but Stranger in Town here is a different end to the show from that one's Song for Bilbao, and this also includes Story Within a Story, which wasn't played in DC.
This recording sounded like a DAT to me with very high highs from the cymbals and a boomy bass on the other end. There was also someone pretty near the recorder who clapped, whooped, and might shout "Lyle!!!" as a feature for him, like the piano on First Circle, began. It was, however a very good capture of the show. I did what I could in Audacity to EQ it a bit better, and the samples will show what to expect pretty accurately. I also did try to bring down the taper's loud neighbor in a place or two, and to do that to one notable bit of diginoise. There were also sbe's that were fixed in TLH.
This didn't show up in the archive, so this might be the first time the show's here. Freeloader days might be a nice time to take a chance on it, particularly if the Imaginary Day album appealed to you. It does sound pretty good despite the flaws I've mentioned. My personal steer might be to look for that DC show from 11/24, and/or a fine job that goody did not long ago on a 1998 show, still from this tour, that came from Poland.
