Sold out show. Went at the last minute and got a ticket from a scalper for $20 over face. I'm not too familiar with Patti Smith, but I was in town for a few other shows and it was something to do. I ended up enjoying it and had no idea that Michael Stipe would be the opening act, as well as join in at the end of this set.

Patti had an LP copy of Horses which she read Compacted Awareness off the back of. After Free Money, she took the record out of the sleeve and turned it to side B. She pulled all the strings off her guitar one by one at the end of the show.

There were two Fillmore employees standing at the bottom of the stairs after the show handing out free posters with the 29th and 30th dates.

This was the first of 3 nights at the Fillmore.
