Paul Butterfield
14th Roskilde Festival
Roskilde, Denmark
30 June 1984

1. Born in Chicago [7:01]
2. Mannish Boy [6:45]
3. The Thrill is Gone [6:43]
4. Heart Like a Locamotive [5:27]

Total time: 25:56

If I remember correct, The Band was contracted to play the 1984 Roskilde Festival and
Butterfield was brought in as replacement on short notice. Hence, the official festival
poster has no referrence to Paul Butterfield. The band Paul brought to Europe was
labeled Paul Butterfield Blues Band, possibly by the festival organisers.

About half an hour of Butterfield's performance was broadcast live on TV in both Denmark
and Sweden, maybe also in Norway. To improve sound, it was simultaneously broadcast
on FM radio in stereo, which is captured here. The signal was lost twice during The
Thrill Is Gone. At one time you can here the Swedish TV commentator asking what's
happening. Also, you can clearly here some flutter in the quiet parts of Heart Like
a Locomotive.
