Paul Thorn
Waterfront Blues Festival
Portland, OR.
July 5, 2008

Recorded from KBOO FM. An all volunteer radio station in Portland. FM>HD>FLAC>Dime or at times FM>H2 ZOOM>HD>FLAC>Dime. As always there are some bumps in the road, but nothing that would stop me from down loading these shows. I've tried to fix all the drops and pauses in the music. Enjoy the festival, twofthrs

This band is a breath of fresh air...

“Paul Thorn is a rare and addictive mixture of soul, wit, humor and musicality.” - MARK KNOPFLER

“Paul Thorn may be the best kept secret in the music business… absolutely Southern, absolutely original, full of heart and humor and surprises and street-wise details of trailer parks and turnip greens and love and lust that have the unmistakable ring of truth. And he sings ….with the soul and pure joy of a true artist." - KRIS KRISTOFFERSON

Born in Tupelo, Mississippi, the son of a Pentecostal preacher, Paul Thorn was a prizefighter and skydiver before becoming a rootsy singer/songwriter. As a boxer, Thorn once went 7 rounds in a nationally-televised championship fight against Roberto Duran; as a musician, he has toured and collaborated with Sting, Paul Carrack, Joe Diffie, Tanya Tucker, Ronnie Milsap, Mark Knopfler and Carole King. He released his debut album, Hammer & Nail, in 1997 and followed it with Ain't Love Strange three years later. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
