comments:
This is from when PWC was promoting their "Common Ground" album, sort of an unsung
hero anthem for the early green revolution in America. Ocean dream is the one with
whale effects in it, and toward the middle of the second set they bring out a real wolf
(never mind this sound effects business) for what I think was supposed to be a guest
vocal spot. I saw the wolf, looked like a big German Shepherd (but not a dog), lovely looking
creature but I never heard him howl. Musta thought the rest of us were just plain nuts
since the wolf was the only one (except the band) who didn't howl all night. The wolf
remained very calm throughout his appearance, even during the wolf group howl, which is
supposed to make the wolf feel right at home... Apparently it worked. The concert
ventures into many styles, some of it quite interesting, other parts not as much, but it was
a good concert. There are a couple of other players who join in for parts the show,
not sure who, but the lineup listed above plays in the whole show. I'm not sure how much is
missing here, but probably only a few seconds during (at least 3) interruptions. one only misses
stage talking, track 5 cuts out, track 7 cuts in. there were 2 sets, but it was all one concert
by the Consort. Some of it sounds like an Oregon- inspiring band, other parts, not at all.
The only player here I know from other group playing is Akira Tana. He's very good, in other
groups and in this one. Not sure what mikes and deck were used for this, but it was done with
pretty good mikes and deck. This master tape has hardly ever been played. The sound in Berklee
is very good, and it shows in the recording. It's just been digitized and readied for upload
for the 1st time ever. There are a few noises from shuffling and bumps, some talking but nothing
to impair an enjoyable recording (for most of us) This is at least most of the concert. Enjoy it.
