The Performance
----------------
Real nice set here, a great compliment to the Cologne show. I though it very odd opening with "Pueblo". Though the performance of that song is still inspiring, it does seem that the show takes a little while to get going because of the pace, with the staggered break bit of "Gold Soundz" not quite resonating with the same energy or delight that it did just two nights earlier. Other notable changes in the set also include "Newark Wilder", "Heaven is a Truck" (a personal favorite) and "Box Elder". And one cannot dismiss the 9 minute epic encore performance of "Fillmore Jive".

The Specs
---------
Technically, this was close to a nightmare. For some strange reason there is digital glitching throughout the SBD source, and at rare times duplicated on one of the cam sources. I'm still kind of baffled by this. I can't think of any phenomenon that would produce such a bizarre occurence. The glitches on the DAT seem to be overload at peak stabs (usually the vocals, but during 5-4=unity, Bob's keyboard noises caused some very oscillated cracks throughout the song). That makes sense. But the same noises found on one of the AUD's but not the other one does not make sense. If it was going out to the room that way, sure, but I really don't think it was. Very strange indeed.

So the fixes on this are many; at times it was cutting-copying-pasting good bits over glitches, and other times I had to automate some Waves X-Crackle on the master output, maybe 30 to 40 instances. And "5-4=unity" saw decrackle for the majority of the song.

Of course, I wouldn't let it go out there (with my name on it anyways) without it being acceptable to me, and this one definitely is. I certainly wouldn't have put in all those hours of work on it had I thought it a waste.

It's funny too, the overall audio to me is just a notch below the Cologne show, mostly as the SBD mix was better that night. But video-wise, this one excels over Cologne, with some real clear & stable shots of the nights' proceedings. And that's being seeded right after this...
