I know very little about this group, which as far as I know never played in the U.S.A.
I happened to get this from a friend in the U.K. This sounds totally different than any
other band I've heard with Bruford, mostly percussion, and it doesn't make me think,
that sounds like Bill Bruford. If he wasn't introduced I wouldn't have known he plays in
this. It's more of an oddity than anything else, recorded with an auto-leveling deck,
recording is okay but nothing to rave over. (this has got to be my worst quality Bill
Bruford upload, and the least musically interesting.) As a Bruford fan for over 30 years
I like to share as much of his different projects as I can, and I've found the more input
Bill is allowed in the music, the more interesting the music sounds. Bruford said he is
allowed the most freedom of musical interest in King Crimson, and the Bill Bruford Band
which was his band- his first band where he was the leader (this during a 1995 interview
before a K.C. concert.) If you like Bruford I have a few of his efforts you will likely find
more interesting and better sounding, but if you're like me and want to hear all sorts of
Bruford drumming, not just his most familiar groups, you'll probably want to hear this. I
don't know how many shows this group did, I think there were a few shows, but not many.
This one has 2 sets, the 2nd one starts with track 6. There is a fade in at the beginning
and a fadeout at the end of each set. I think it's all here, and of all the Bruford-
inclusive bands I'm uploading, this is the only one not to be selected as "Glasnost
Radio Hall of Fame" material on the radio show I used to host. There aren't very many bands
like that. There are 6 that have (more than any other artist in the world) and I have
samplings to offer of all but Gong (another Dime uploader has offered a couple of those
which are good) and National Health. The 5 I do have offerings of are Yes, King Crimson,
U.K. Cloud About Mercury and the Bill Bruford Band. Those performances are all very good
ones from Bill, name-that-drummer-in-1-note type performances.
Do not sell this recording.
(Nobody would buy it anyway.)
Trade freely and losslessly.
This thing's lost enough already.
