::: Distant but consistent & clear, with a bit o' rumble. Check samples for no folk or more folk from Norfolk.
::: Warts: Repaired dullspots & dropouts but surely missed a few. Some rumble. Intermittent low level capstan(?) noises at times but fixed loud ones & they ain't bad. Bit o' singalong (NOT an issue!) in #13,24,35.
::: Recorded less than a year before his death, 24 September 1991.
::: One of the most influential UK folkies of the 20th century.
::: Bellamy played with The Young Tradition w/Royston&Heather Wood & recorded albums with Shirley Collins, Louis Killen a.o. He made 17 solo LPs from 1968-1991, as well as recording the Britfolk landmark work, "The Transports" w/the cream of Britfolk society.
::: Horsham is on the upper reaches of the River Arun on the fringe of the Weald in West Sussex.
Recording Information ::: unknown mono portable cassette recorder -> master cassette -> unknown digital transfer -> wav.
Remastering 2018-04-xx ::: wav -> Audacity [fades, manual one-at-a-time glitch, bump, pop, click, clap, cough, dropout & dullspot repairs, volume adjustments, -0.9 averaged pitch (speed) fix with single pass after frequency analysis & with pitchpipe verification, NO equalisation or noise reduction] -> CD Wave (track splits) -> flacs (Trader's Little Helper) -> yr ears. NOTE: Recording was 2 channel mono & R channel had problems, so this is remastered from the left channel only. First uploaded 2018-04-xx.
Line-up ::: Peter Bellamy - Anglo concertina, vocals, unparalleled commentary.
Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.
DimeTravel 413 ::: MANY thanks to the original taper & trader! ::: Corrections welcome ::: QUITE rare to have a full evening's performance turn up by this gent. The taper notes that the first set is very like the first part of "Songs & Rummy Conjurin' Tricks" (Bellamy's final album), which is not too surprising as the concert for that LP/CD was recorded maybe 2 months after the Horsham gig. Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yrs truly, Knees
Support the artist's family (at least we can hope that's where the royalties go)! Discography at this wonderful site & you can go from there. Many releases available, almost certainly more than at any one time in the past: www.mainlynorfolk.info/peter.bellamy/records/index.html
Do whatever you want with it except sell it, 'cause that ain't cool!
