Peter Brtzmann Chicago Tentet

September 14, 2003

Thanks to all the seeders of dates from the Brotzmann Tentet's recent European tour. In celebration, here is a reseed of one of my favourites from the archives from a time when the Tentet still played compositions. I can't remember where this came from but thanks to the original seeder whose information is reproduced below.

Joe McPhee - trumpet
Jeb Bishop - trombone
Peter Brtzmann - reeds
Mars Williams - reeds
Mats Gustafsson - reeds
Ken Vandermark - reeds
Fred Lonberg-Holm - cello
Kent Kessler - bass
Hamid Drake - drums
Michael Zerang - drums

1. Sign (Brtzmann) 25:26
2. Alarm (Brtzmann) 22:55
3. No Nothing (Brtzmann)** 3:16

Total time 103:31

* Wertmller's composition "Gebrtig" has been inspired by Robert Schindel's novel of the same title, and been composed for the Chicago Tentet. The first performance of "Gebrtig" took place in Berne, Switzerland, on September 13, 2003.
** "No Nothing" was performed as an encore and is incomplete

Sound: A/A- (some radio distortion)

Source: two SWR2 broadcasts, 2003 and 2004 if I remember right, the first including CD2 #1 & #2, the second including CD1 and CD2 #3.

Lineage: FM > Minidisc > analogue transfer to HD > CDR > FLAC (level 6)

My upload speed is capped so this may take some time. Hang in there.
