I decided to grab a ticket for this one in September, having become a recent Frampton fan after hearing Andy Timmons' Electric Truth cover "Do You Feel Like I Do."
No one should be surprised to learn that I grabbed a chicken parm sandwich from Sicilian Pizza & Pasta for dinner before the show. The food is great, and you can't beat the location if you're attending shows at The Palace or the Mercury Ballroom.
However, you should be surprised to learn that I ran into Andy Timmons himself in line for the show. He was hanging with Dan Wojciechowski's family, who had come in from Detroit to see the show. I had a blast catching up with everyone, and we were in for a great night.
I set up in my taping location, though the space was pretty full and I ended up in the back right corner. The sound was still decent, but improves midway through track 5 when I was able to move up to my usual location. Still, someone walks in front of me three or four times during the show. There were a few talkers nearby who actually got shut down by a lady near me. I thanked her after the show for telling them to shut up. The recording itself isn't my best. Most of it is pretty listenable, but the chatter can be distracting. I filtered some of it out during track 9, but chose not to during track 17 because it would have clashed with the instrumentation even more than the crowd noise that were already there.
Peter and the band blew me away. I was shocked to see a 2 hour and 40 minute show from him, and the musicianship and banter were very engaging. Peter is a superb showman, and I truly hope to see him again someday. There are a few notable moments for me, outside of the normal, topp-notch set. One is during the third verse of track 5, where Peter calls out a lady for being on her phone. he expounds on this in the banter afterword. Track 7 is such a rocker, and features the debut of the talkbox, and tracks 9 and 17 because... obviously! The audience engagement on track 15 is pretty fun, not to mention the solos, and while we're on the topic of solos you have to love 18, 20, and 23. I would see Peter again in a heartbeat.

I would like to include a heartfelt thank you to the people over at Setlist.FM for constantly doing their best to update and accurately post setlists from every show possible. Everyone makes mistakes (and they're known for it) but they have helped me immensely in writing up track listings for my show, and lots of the information found accompanying my shows is thanks to them. Whether I have used Setlist.FM to collect information for this particular show or not, they deserve so many thanks for all the help they have given me in the past.
Finally, the confusion regarding the legality of recording concerts is because of those who sell them. I do not condone selling freely-shared live music, and blame those who sell concerts for the lack of people recording and sharing content, as well as for the bad reputation society places upon those of us who do. Let it also be noted that any who sell this recording deserve nothing more than to have their own collection confiscated and shared freely with the masses. Please only degrade audio quality for personal use. Also, I ask that you keep this info file intact.
