Note : Recorded from MD to computer in real time.
I was sitting on the balcony in the dress circle, mics on the lapels. Hamer Hall is a big hall and the sound is fairly good, a bit big roomy. The audience is quiet.
Great performance, with a couple of John Coltrane tunes early in the evening. This was part of a double bill with McCoy Tyner (he was on later, and yes I did record him too), celebrating the life of John Coltrane, 40 years after his passing. Pharoah Sanders was, for me, the highlight. There is a little mobile phone interference during Giant Steps, it is very slight and doesn't last for very long. There is also some digital noise from the MD evident during the quieter moments, mostly between the tunes. Again, it's only slight
