Phil Woods Quintet
International Jazz Festival
Amsterdam (de Meervaart)
28 September, 1984

The Phil Woods Quintet at the International Jazz Festival Amsterdam (de Meervaart), 28 September 1984. Dutch radio broadcasts: the whole concert was recorded and later broadcast in two segments: tracks 1-3; and tracks 4-6.

My own taping of the broadcasts. I kept the opening (in track 1) and closing (in track 6) station announcements of the late Michiel de Ruyter. In the first broadcast a little "station interference" audible, especially in the bass solo of track 2, but IMO the whole performance is interesting enough. Check out the well-known "All Bluesy" arrangement of "Willow Weep For Me".

Short pauses in track 3 (at 7:10) and in the first seconds of the theme "How's Your Mama" at the end of track 6 (tape reverses).

Enjoy!
