Phoebe Snow
Waterfront Blues Festival
Portland, OR.
July 6, 2008

Recorded from KBOO FM. An all volunteer radio station in Portland. FM>HD>FLAC>Dime or at times FM>H2 ZOOM>HD>FLAC>Dime. As always there are some bumps in the road, but nothing that would stop me from down loading these shows. I've tried to fix all the drops and pauses in the music. Enjoy the festival, twofthrs

“We thought we were hearing the voice of a generation when in fact we were hearing a profoundly individual, profoundly musical voice.” - Rolling Stone

”...it doesn’t matter how you describe her; [Phoebe Snow] is a phenomenon unto herself.” - The New York Times

”[At the Elton John Tribute concert]...wow did Ms. Snow bring down the house...” - The New York Sun

Phoebe Snow exploded onto the charts in 1974 on the heels of one of the most acclaimed debut albums of all time. Phoebe’s first two hits, “Poetry Man” and “Two-Fisted Love’ established her as a major force in the pantheon of singer/songwriters. Platinum records, the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, and legions of fans followed. After years of world tours and recording sessions and more critical acclaim, Phoebe took time off from the frenetic music roller-coaster to raise her daughter.

Last year, long-standing pal, Linda Ronstadt urged Phoebe out of her semi-retirement by inviting her up on stage at a few of her concerts. The response was so positive that Phoebe decided to test the waters with her own limited solo engagement at New York’s Birdland, She sold-out four nights and grabbed glowing reviews heralding her return to the music scene. Television was next as NBC’s new hit series, “Lipstick Jungle,” licensed Phoebe’s haunting version of the classic “Teach Me Tonight” for an upcoming episode. Later this spring, Phoebe is going into the studio for a new major label recording.

Live, she has a drop-dead r&b soul infused show with a new group and a rich catalog of both fan favorites and recently written songs.

Phoebe Snow is back.
