Title: Reap the Harvest
Source: Smokey in Montreal
Format: One (1) flac CDR
Lineage: LP>eac>flac

Transfer to disc by Smokey, from his excellent copy of the original pressing of "California Stockyard." Minor edits performed by Flynn of Man of Leisure Music. Originally produced by Slipped Discs Records*.

Though incomplete, this recording has very good sound quality and fewer audience intrusions than other recordings of Anaheim & most US concerts. A refreshing departure from tapes with people always yelling "sit the @#$% down!". Dave's jamming with Snowy and Rick about 10 minutes into SOYCD 6-9 makes this worth getting all by itself.

There are some annoying flaws in some sections of the recording, and a few pops and clicks, but overall, the source vinyl is in very good shape. Recording levels were also a bit of a handful to deal with.

There's a bumping noise here and there, especially noticable during Have A Cigar and at the beginning of SOYCD 6-9. Since I own a more worn original pressing, a 1st gen tape and 1st gen CDR and borrowed a re-pressing, I can tell you the noise is inherent in the recording. Pretty sure they are pressing flaws. You'll forget all about them.

A special thanks goes out to several PF Traders who offered their rare, forbidden vinyl for this project, especially Smokey, Paul and Gonzo. It gave me a chance to really learn more about this roio. Also, a huge thanks to the folks who make Floydartifacts the best Floyd list on the web.

It only took one e-mail posted to the list to get four offers to loan me a vinyl copy, and two offerings of CDR transfers taken from good vinyl. Floydartifacts traders
get to reap the harvest they have sown.

There were two (2) re-issues of this vinyl. Both re- issues are missing PotW pt2. All three pressings have the sets reversed. Sound quality of the first pressing substantially better SQ than second and third pressings. In fact, the re-issues come from a poor recording of an audibly worn original. Bummer.

The pressing to look for is a blank white jacket with a yellow paper jacket wrapper with red print. Front half of jacket wrapper shows a man walking a bicycle on a highway
ramp with an object identical to what is on the 1975 Knebworth concert poster coming at him. Back half is a picture of the band (headshots) and setlists.

Later pressings are nearly identical, but the printed wrapper is white with light purple printing, lacking a lot of detail (read: xerox). The album jacket is a reversed, unused jacket from some other record (!), and there is no LP with an orange label.

Original LP pressing done by the Dansker Fanklubbe
Grammofone Kolletiv/Kopenhavn, Danmark. Matrix PF400 (ABCD).

Rog calls out a number I can't identify. Some say he calls out "40". He does say something at the end of the third verse, but I just don't hear "40". I've heard Rog call out what I hear as "forty" on the Milwaukee roio. For Anaheim, he "should" be on 37. Whatever. And I used to laugh at the Trekkies ....

Side Three:
5.) Welcome To The Machine
6.) Have A Cigar
7.) Wish You Were Here (NOTE: The taper intentionally coughs at the precise moment Syd coughs on the WYWH album).
