PINK FLOYD
MONTREAL DAY 1
X-ref: "Montreal 12.9.1987".
Venue: September 12th, 1987 – The Forum, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Notes:
A part of north american "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" 1987 tour.
Historical show. Great "Echoes" - 2nd performance after 12 years break (last time - July 5th
1975 – Knebworth Park, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, UK - with Roger Waters).
The 1st of only 6 encore performances of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" and also the first time
it was played on this tour - after 10 years break (last time - July 6th, 1977 – Olympic Stadium,
Montreal, Canada - with Roger Waters). This song wasn't planed to play at all this day.
Due to improbable pressure of many thousand people crowd, the band after long intermission
finally played an extra encore. Dave said later that due to huge noise he hadn't heard at all
what he had played. The band could't quiet the audience in any way. In fact, technically SOYCD
was performed nightmarishly, but this situation has also an incontestable charm... In this
circumstances this is probably the most beautiful performance of this song ever.
Complete show. Recording mastered from genuine low generation analog tapes. Discs' division
compatible with the course of the show. Carefuly indexed. Revised copy. Balanced. Speed corrected.
