This is the gig that became my favourite live LP ever … “Live Floating Anarchy ’77”. So, if you wish to get a fuller gig, get a digital version of the LP & make yourselves up a playlist with the running order from below.


The late and very wonderful Woodland (RIP) sent me a digital copy of this recording. It came originally from a cassette, or maybe a bigger reel-to-reel. Either way, it must have been Daevid Allen’s copy, since he had recorded over Ali Baba with some other songs, demonstrating them for, Woodland told me, Hamish MacDonald, probably for him to learn for The Sex Beatles gigs. They are “No Other Than The Mother Is My Song”, “Magick Brother” & “Radio Gnome Invisible”. Maybe Hamish gave the tape to Woodland?

Whether there was another song, or songs between “Ali Baba “& “Est Ce Que Je Suis?” we may never know unless anyone can remember?
There is a little gliss section of just over a minute at the beginning of New Age Transformation Try, which then has Daevid saying/singing “ I am … “ as a beginning to “I Am The Rapist”, which cuts at that point.
Gilli Smyth does not seem to feature, so presumably her vocal parts on the LP was added later?


I may possibly have shared all the songs once before on here with some wrong info …
