If you wanted an audio document of the band's collective psyche at this point, this would be a great place to start. We get all 3 major moods here - Good, indifferent, and bad. I'd say that a good chunk of this performance is indifferent. The good moments include Andy ripping the solo on Synchronicity II and one of the best renditions of Murder By Numbers ever. The bad include Sting going too early on his bassline with O My God during the first verse and the tone of his banter (he seems to be in a sarcastic/flippant mood). One World serves yet again as the most telling piece, as it has both flat moments and great moments. Sonically, this one isn't bad. There is a touch of echo, but it is plenty upfront enough that this is not a distraction. About the last 90-120 seconds of King of Pain is missing, as is probably the last 45-60 seconds of Can't Stand Losin' You. Sting does band intros during Can't Stand Losin' You, which I think questions So Lonely even being played on this night at all. Overall, I'd say casual collectors may want to start elsewhere. Many of the factors appeal more to hardcore fans, and there are better overall performances of this tour available (not to mention more complete).
