THE POLICE – 1986 FM Promo

This was a promotional FM program for the first greatest hits package in 1986, Every Breath You Take: The Singles, the one with the awful
revision of Don’t Stand So Close To Me. Separate interviews of the guys are interspersed with live cuts and studio versions of some tunes
(studio versions edited out, of course). Quality, being FM, is excellent. This version of Roxanne has always been my favorite of all the
ones I own, just because of the jam in the middle. But that’s just my opinion; your mileage may vary. No identification of where or when
any of these live cuts are from. You only know Message In A Bottle is from Melbourne because Sting yells out the city during the tune.
I’ve compared these versions to other officially-released versions of the tunes and to my knowledge none have ever been released. Perhaps
they were originally meant for the live album they were supposedly working on in 1984?? This was probably one of the last promotional
activities the band did before breaking up without telling anyone. Anyway, enjoy!
