Power Station (R Palmer + 2xDuran) - Greek Theatre, Los Angeles, USA 28 Jul 1985 RADIO BROADCAST (Reseed)
My other reseed of Power Station has been snatched over 100 times. So here is my other show.
There was some discussion as to whether or not Robert Palmer was a member. In verifying that this show is not banned, I found

Not this show, but one from July 19, 1985. That is Robert in the photo. I would think he would still be there 9 days later.
This was upped by Hanshcv on Apr 18, 2009. Thank you very much.

Thanks hanshcv. I haven't seen many Power Station recordings, if at all. Is this Robert Palmer singing with them? I think Michael Des Barres did vocals on their tour instead of Palmer, who had by this time split to do a solo album.
From what I understand, you are correct. Palmer left BEFORE the summer tour of the USA to work on his solo project, and was replaced with Des Barres. I haven't heard this show yet, but I suspect it is Des Barres on vocals.
And yes, unfortunately Tony Thompson died shortly after Robert Palmer died in 2003 (cancer). RIP.
Thanks for this. Tony Thompson was an incredible drummer and is sadly missed. Bernard Edwards who produced the PS and played bass on their second album is also no longer with us. A truly 'supergroup' which started off as a Thompson project.
Thanks for the show. Too bad it's Des Barres, but I'll grab it anyway. I was just introducing my son to Power Station's music this morning.
Tony Thompson was a HEAVY, HEAVY drummer. Only guy who could come close to Bonham's power. Check out the stuff he played on for Clapton's two Hendrix covers "Stone Free: and "Burning The Midnight Lamp" ... fantatsic stuff!
I remember some local deejay's interviewed Robert Palmer via telephone about a year before he died. He was living the life of a king in Switzerland, hosting parties every night and surrounded by beautiful women. Living the life of a retired rock star!
