notes:
-I messed up on this one in my arrival time to the show. I was under the assumption that it was PHJB opening up for DMB. I knew there was a good chance I'd
be a little late, and sure enough I was and then I compounded it and ended up even later than a little late. To top that off, I walk in and
both bands are onstage performing together. I asked an usher and nearby spectator and they both said the show started promptly at 8 - I walked in at 8:25
or so, and within 2 songs they were taking their set break - ouch! Thus, this is a truncated version of that night's performance, but still worthy of a seed.
Going to this gig was experimental to me anyway: wasn't sure what to expect, but took the chance.
-that being said, this is a good gig - a mix of old timey New Orleans jazz with bluegrass that they termed "hillbilly jazz or jazzgrass." They had people
dancing in the aisles by the end. The hall was close to being sold out with a crowd that spanned in age from toddler to senior, but weighted toward the
senior side. They sent us all home early (by 10) to get our z's after parading the brass section thru the audience during "Saints."
-sound is quite excellent - was in center lower section near back close to SBD. Definitely an "A-".
-another Sonoran Desert Recording taped, mastered and seeded by matt23.
-please do not sell at all, or trade in lossy format, or may bedbugs make your life miserable every night!
