show notes: what could be better than Primus on NYE in a small arena in their "home base" with Helmet opening??? NOT MUCH! I got there just a few minutes after Helmet hit the stage (not sure if that portion has been torrented or not, post below if you have it). that said, this was a full on rock-bacchanal, Primus style. overall, a really clear recording after the 1st few songs (the sound cleans up then as well).
my one weird memory for this show is that at midnight, a huge inflatable elephant was wheeled out on the arena floor, and hotties were in it throwing out candy and party favors as it caroused around the back of the arena while the balloons fell (but I WAS really stoned, so maybe there weren't any elephant riders). that leads into my "funny", in that I *swore* someone attempted to jump from the lower-level rail *onto* the inflatable elephant. and they bounced right off of that elephant like it was a trampoline and fell 20 feet to the floor. but again, I was really stoned, so maybe this did not happen. but I really think it did (kinda like how I remember the BerenstEIn bears as a kid...but that's a talk-show for another day)
play it LOUD! huge thanks to Mr. Leif12345 for the upload, and you just never know what you may hear next....
