Notes:
Back in the festival's formative years (1995-2001), they
regularly released CD sets of festival highlights (ProgDay '95,
ProgDay Encore, ProgDay '98, ProgDay 2001). Unfortunately,
that custom ended in the early 2000s. I started to miss
those sets after a while, so since 2013 I've been cobbling
together my own 2-disc highlight set out of audience recordings.
Note that as of this writing (Aug, 2021), the full recordings
of the sets that these highlights were drawn from are still
available on the Dime a Dozen site.
-----
After a "virtual" ProgDay that was held on-line in 2020 and a
complete cancellation of the festival in 2021, both due to
Covid, 2022 saw ProgDay finally return to beautiful Storybook Farm.
I had some extra cash on hand this year, so I upgraded the
microphones I use to record the festival to a matched pair
of Shure SM57s. That, combined with some upgraded audio gear
used by the festival's sound crew and a decision to sit closer
to the stage this year lead to the best sounding batch of ProgDay
audience recordings I've gotten in 25 years of attending and
recording the festival. With that great batch of recordings
available, I couldn't resist making another one of these 2-CD
"highlights" sets.
All recordings done with a Tascam DP-004 digital recorder.
Preshow recordings used the recorder's built-in microphones.
All Storybook Farm recordings done with the Shure SM57 mics
connected to the recorder's external mic inputs.
Enjoy, and please help support the bands and the festival in any
way you can.
