Show Notes: My second time seeing Queen + Adam Lambert, and they did not disappoint. Adam seemed a little conservative on the first few songs, but he gradually warmed up and threw in some crazy adlibs that had me floored. He did fumble a few lyrics throughout the show though. Brian was in top form, and I enjoyed the way he changed up the solos tonight. When he played Dvořák's New World Symphony during his guitar solo, I was practically floating in my seat. Roger was a little rough during “I’m in Love With My Car” but gave great vocals for the rest of the set. I’m a little disappointed that they mostly stuck to the hits, but there were a few moments where they referenced deeper cuts. The intro of “You Take My Breath Away” before “Who Wants to Live Forever” is a big one, but subtler ones include a hint of “White Man” in the intro of “Fat Bottomed Girls” and Roger’s drum solo being similar to the drum solo from “Liar.” Despite my issues with some aspects of the show, I still loved it, if only to see two legends and a talented singer perform some of the most treasured songs of my childhood.

Recording Notes: This recording is the best I have ever gotten from my phone, most likely aided by the stellar sound system and my great seats, which were close to the mixing desk and isolated from chatty audience members. There are a few times when you can hear me singing along, particularly during Love of My Life, but it’s relatively quiet and hopefully not too distracting.
