a MIRO and BLUESHACKS taping trip
---

Rec. Info:
Sony ECM 717 mic -> Zoom H2n (@ WAV 16/44) -> SDcard -> Snailmail -> my HD -> Audacity (edit/remaster) -> WAV 16/44 -> TLH8 -> FLAC -> DIME -> YOUR EARS AND MIND...
Recorded by dear MIRO and BLUESHACKS somewhere not far from stage edge. It was not indicated who recorded which show, but as I know from my previous trips with the two good friends,
that it was most likely 50:50. A bit uneven recording, and of course, incomplete. This is just a snippet from the show, maybe from start, maybe from within, but definitely not from the
end of the show. I've cut the final about 80 secs from the following track as the recording suddely stops. Nobody knows why...

After a day of fun at the Yellowstock Festival on 8th of August, my fellow friends decided to go even a step further and drove to this lovely small festival in northern France (some 70 kms
from Paris) and came back with raving reviews. Located in the woods outside a very small village, those thre days of peace and music were simply mindblowing to them. Apart from a bit of
rain during the weekend and some funny occurances like selfmade toilets of the more rural sort, the most told expression was: Burg Herzberg in small. Well, judging the size of the "big one"
with far more than 10.000+ people, this setting was sold out with about 500 only to a very fine admission fee of 30 Euros including campng for the whole weekend. I have not heard too much
about the catering, but as we're in France, it surely could've not too bad. As it was also holiday and - yes your fellow Spacebandit was not hand for supporting taping - a bunch of bands
were taped, but far from all those that played on the two lovely designed stages. All thanks straight to the towns of Gescher and Kevelaer to my buddies for their fine "work". SB.

Vers nice psych folk with a jazzy edge from Bristol, UK. Some words by themselves...
"Members Leonie Evans (Vocals/Guitar), Dan Truen (Drums) and Leon Boyden (Bass) met at Dartington College of Arts in 2006. Here they found many musical influences
from around the world at their fingertips and formed the band Rae. These influences can be found in all of their music; ranging from North Indian to jazz, from classical to funk,
flamenco to hip hop and from folk to rock. This means the bands music can chop and change in mood, style and subject matter.
Originally having the pleasure of playing with cellist Asha McCarthy, who features on the earlier recordings and has now gone to India to pursue Indian classical music.
More recently being joined by Lorenzo Prati on Tenor Saxophone, has added yet another texture and range of influence to the band, having studied Jazz and Balkan music."
