In 1990 I worked as a lightning-engineer at the Jazz Mecca Festival in Maastricht Holland.
I operated the house lights and stage lights in Auditorium 1 from a control room.
In order to hear the performance, a Philips-Sound-Mixer was placed in the control room where a cable from the FOH-mixer was connected.
Sound mixers are relatively inexpensive devices that were very popular in the 80's as karaoke machines.
The recording quality of these devices is rather mediocre.
The automatic internal limiter is set too hard and it often eliminates the sound completely.
Nevertheless, I have 3 wonderful and unique recordings that were never shared before.
My colleagues were not aware of this, and I shared the recording only a few times with friends in my living room.
I did not consciously kept them for myself but was not in the supposition that others would like to hear it.
So finally they are available at Dimeadozen.

This recording is part of a set of three recordings.
1 - Randy Brecker Quintet Fusion 03/11/1990
2 - Bob Berg Group 03/11/1990
3 - Monty Alexander Trio 04/11/1990
