Lineage: Maxell XL-II cassette (1) > Adobe Audition 1.5 (recording at 24/96) > Izotope Rx (aggressive NR) > Adobe Audition 1.5 again (EQ, limiting, track indexing) > Xrecode 2 (conversion to flac 8)
From the collection of chopper7
Transferred and mastered by }{eywood
Note: although recorded at 24/96 this is a 16 bit release because somewhere in the pass through Izotope it got downconverted. I didn't do this intentionally, but by the time I noticed it I had mastered and cut the first two tape sides already and was not about to go back and do it all over for a hi res version.
What a great show! I am not what you'd consider a Deadhead, mostly because I am not a fan of Jerry Garcia, but I do have a fairly large GD collection, and I am really impressed with this concert. It contains a lot of my favorite Bob songs like Black Throated Wind, Looks Like Rain (what I consider the best love song ever), Throeing Stones, and my favorite GD song(s) ever: Lost Sailor/Saint of Circumstance. These songs were rarely played by the Dead, and pretty much only in 1980-81 when they were new. Great to see them given new life with Ratdog. In fact the only thing I really don't like about this show is KOHD as the encore (I despise this song and think far to many bands record and play this utterly boring POS. They should knock harder. Perhaps then they'll be let in before I have to hear this thing again).
The tape is really good sounding but had a lot of high end hiss that I removed with Izotope. The beginning of the show is missing, likely because the taper started late. Other than that it is a wonderful recording that took very little tweaking to get to the point you hear now.
