The Reba Russell Band
Live at The King Biscuit Blues Festival
October 7, 2010
Helena, AR
Well, Reba is one of those treasure's that you appreciate each time you see her. For me, that has been a lot over the years and she never fails to bring the crowd to their feet. Her strong voice and the bluesy style leaves the crowd wanting more. This doesn't consider the strong band she has backing her. Each position is filled with a musician more than capable of playing at any level in the field of music. Of note though is Josh Roberts and his slide work (in particular). Josh is in his mid-twenties but plays like an old master; really something to see and hear.
Reba is one of my favorites (can you tell?) and also a favorite of Sonny Payne as he is always the stage announcer for Reba at Helena. There is some crowd chatter here, noted during some of the quieter portions but this is still a good set by Reba as she and the band prepare for a Europen tour later in October.
Enjoy!
