Pulled from a box of stored cassettes.

This was 37 years ago and my memory is vague on this tape. I think that's because a friend borrowed my gear to record this. I supplied everything and he went and did it although he was not usually a taper. He can be heard a few times and that reminds me I didn't go do this myself.

Also there are two cuts which would be very rare for me. It's hard to know what happened because if the deck was bumped and shut off and then turned back on there wouldn't be any real gap, just a break. In this case the first gap is about 9 seconds and the second is 40 seconds. For the tape to keep rolling but have no sound would mean the mics got disconnected then reconnected, or maybe just play was engaged after a stoppage rather than record/play until it was noticed there were no levels and record mode was engaged. Or FF got hit momentarily after a bump stoppage prior to getting back into record mode, anyway however it happened, these cuts are on the master.

I don't know RHCP song titles at all so this is going up without a setlist. If someone supplies one in the comments I can amend the info text and tag the titles to the files and re-up it.

This is the RAW transfer with no editing other than to shorten the cut gaps.

The AKG C567e were lavalier omni mics I was using in stealth situations around that time. They could sound pretty good in the right situation and used well. Their main weakness was they didn't have a high spl rating so loud and especially bassy loud music could overload them. I can hear that a bit on this. I can tell this sat in the box for decades because I knew it had a few rough aspects so I tend to skip over such things.

I know this is a fairly early RHCP recording so it may have particular interest for that reason. This was I'm pretty sure their first appearance in Santa Cruz. I know they returned to play the larger Catalyst at least once and probably twice and I know another friend recorded one or more of those and shared them here in the past.
