This performance was recorded off the air in the early 1980s from a Washington DC-area FM station (WETA? WPFW?) that was carrying the American Jazz Radio Theatre, which sometimes re-broadcast WBGO broadcasts from the Village Vanguard, and which appeared to be an attempt to fill the void left when NPR ceased producing "Jazz Alive!". It is not from the three Red Rodney-Ira Sullivan official releases that were recorded at the Village Vanguard in 1980. Those releases had a different bassist and drummer, according to the information found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Ira_Sullivan_live_albums and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Red_Rodney_live_albums.

The date of this performance is uncertain. Unlike the announcers for "Jazz Alive!" broadcasts, the announcers for these re-broadcasts rarely if ever gave the dates of the performances. However, some evidence suggests that it took place in 1982. On track 02, Sullivan refers to an album he and Rodney had recently made for Elektra Musician -- apparently the 1981 LP "Spirit Within" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirit_Within). Also, Anderson and Hirshfield appeared on a live LP that the group recorded at a different venue in November 1982 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sprint_(album)). Finally, a June 1, 1982 New York Times article refers to the Rodney-Sullivan group's upcoming appearance at the Village Vanguard (https://www.nytimes.com/1982/06/01/arts/going-out-guide.html), although it also refers to them playing there often.

That said, there is no reference to a post-1980 live recording by this line-up at the Vanguard in these listings of official releases by Red Rodney and/or Ira Sullivan.
