Renaissance: The Lostbrook Tape Series - Volume 110

For our final Renaissance release of the series, we present
my first Renaissance capture. Since this was my third overall
attempt at recording, I made a few rookie mistakes. I only
brought one 90-minute tape with me and consequently missed the
final eight minutes of "Ashes Are Burning." I also wanted to
keep my hands free and hadn't yet discovered that I needed
to hold the recorder as high as possible. There are a few muffled
moments when I kept the recorder flat on my lap and may have
accidentally covered the mic with my coat. At one point, I even
put the recorder on the floor. When I listen to this tape and hear
the seat creak, it says to me, "You idiot! You idiot!" All things
considered, it's a decent capture of a 1975 Renaissance concert with
a beautiful, complete "Scheherazade."
