Comments:
Annie sounded as fresh and graceful (and on key) in these shows as she did in her
mid 70's prime time, one of my favorite if not my all time favorite female singer.
She is great in both these shows, even despite mike problems in a couple of songs.
I'm still not very familiar with alot of this current tour ("Timeline") material,
but there is alot of familiar material in this, and it is all very well played
here. It's a You Are There production for sure.
Any fan of Renaissance owes it to their hard drive to download this.
I was up close, not too many people there and very little crowd noise on the
recording. The only real difference in the sets was unintended, a technical
problem on 4/26 forced an instrumental Song for All Seasons (this show has Ocean
Gypsy instead), and an Ocean Gypsy and Touching Once... medley that is unfortunately
the only cut song in both of these shows. It all sounds very clear and present.
The band seemed in a very upbeat mood these nights, especially Annie.
Unfortunately part of this show is missing, just a few seconds is my guess for a
tape flip near end of touching...
All of this torrent comes from the original master tapes.
The sound seemed good to me on the 26th, and even better on the 27th,
a little more fullness (both recordings made with same recorder/ microphone/
XLII tapes and from almost same spot).
The 4/26 appears to be complete except the 1st few seconds of recorded
intro music (both flips between songs)
this show was first circulated digitally in 2008 with sbe's
and again from reconverted files a little later.
this time it comes directly from the master tapes > wav > flac.
