comments:
this show was previously posted with severe glitching in a few of the tracks,
and when I heard that I asked mr mags if he could get another copy of the recording,
because it's a Romantic Warrior concert, and aside from a few rather minor flaws in
the source recording, it's a pretty enjoyable recording. He followed up on that
request and sent me this, which has no glitches at all. there are some edits between
songs, apparently in the source recording. I would guess this is the whole show.
not sure if there was a set break (as there was at Boston Nov. 75 world premiere of
the music in this tour). if so the second set likely began with Romantic Warrior,
or they may have begun it after that. I think it begins with RW because there's
some talk and tuning before it, and there's no edit after that, there's applause
and it goes into the piano solo after that. Otherwise I would have put the RW
with disc 1. that's a better time balance of discs, but I think it's a 2 set
show with an intermission after track 5. that's why I split it this uneven way.
some music I can take or leave, some I like and a few pieces of music grab me
like a 500 pound lineman. My jaw was last seen at the Orpheum Theater
(after it fell off) after the Romantic Warrior concert there. this was an
experience I will never forget. one can't expect that Boston night of pure magic
to be repeated in a fieldhouse in Iowa, although alot of folks were quite
unprepared for what hit them. this was one of the finest fusion tours by anybody,
in the opinion of some, the pinnacle year for RTF, much like 1973 was with the
Mahavishnu Orchestra.
