=====================================================

Today i decided to pull out another uncirculated master, this time from Richie Havens.

These were free shows and the only time i ever had the chance to see Richie Havens.

I was lucky enough to get a seat inside in a comfortable booth and watch the show from 25 feet back from center stage.

I had the tape recorder sitting right on the table. I thought the early show was great.

On track 3, Richie says "This has to be the hardest place to tune in the world... the room is in the Key of C."

And he was right, there is a faint bell ringing through the show and you can hear it on the tape.

At the end of track 11, Richie jumps up and does a high kick, straight up in the air.

Richie closes out the early show with Pink Floyd's On The Turning Away. I had never heard Richie play this.

My mind was blown !!!!

==============================

After the early show, I actually left the casino and drove home (about 20 miles distance)

Once i was home, I soon decided that i had such a good time hearing the early show and i wanted to tape the late show.

I quickly got back in my car and returned to the casino and was able to get a table seat inside.

But for the late show, i sat on the far right side of the stage, so the recording sounds a little more distant.

I only had 1 90 min tape with me, and I flipped the tape too early and ended up running out of tape.

When side B ended, Richie was still playing the end to Zodiac.

I decided to flip the tape and fast forward it to find the blank tape left at the end of side A.

I had about 5 minutes of blank tape. I was able to catch the final minute of Freedom.

The last song "On The Turning Away", has the ending cut off.

These shows sound fairly decent, so i hope you can enjoy them !!
