This recording was made at The Syracuse Jazz Festival at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY. It was one of the last recordings I made using my old mini-disc recorder. I recorded in mono because I wasn't sure if his set would go over 80 minutes (the maximum capacity of a mini-disc, which was doubled if you recorded in mono). This is probably one of his last public performances before he retired from show business altogether. I'd sonically rate this a B, but I'll let you hear the MP3 sample clips in the comment section below and decide for yourself.

Lineage:

Audience via Mini-Disc (not Hi-MD) w/Church Audio mics > hard drive via optical S/PDIF link > Adobe Audition (EQ, level adjustment and tracking) > FLAC level 8 > You, the listener!

NOTE: If you want to convert this program to MP3 for use in an Ipod or a similar appliance, that's fine. Please DO NOT distribute it in that form!

Selling bootleg CDs is not only a violation of our trust, it's POINTLESS!
