This was my first time seeing Ringo Starr. I made the one hour drive to Penticton but I was concerned I wasn't going to make it. My car, Lucy (a rusty old 1984 Toyota Camry hatchback) had been
giving me trouble for a while and I could see myself being stuck on the side of the road missing the concert. Thankfully, Lucy surprised me and got me to the show on time!

Once I arrived, I grabbed a parking spot and headed off to the merch booth with my poster tube which I bring to most concerts. For some weird reason, I got challenged about 6 times by security
and attendants about it. I kept being told that I'm not allowed a lens like that. Of course, once I explained it was just an empty poster tube they laid off but I just found it so strange.
I've gone to dozens of concerts and nobody's ever asked me about it. Must be a Penticton thing? Anyway, I was looking specifically for a gig poster with a date/venue mention on it but
unfortunately, there was only generic Starr posters which I wasn't in love with so didn't end up buying. Next to the merch booth was a guy set up selling official Starr made merchandise. There
was some definite neat stuff but unfortunately, all of it out of my price range. I didn't end up going home without a souvenir though; after all, I did make this tape.

I had a pretty nice seat towards the front and settled in for the show. It was enjoyable but now that I've seen Ringo, I'd need a very compelling reason to go to another of his shows. I wasn't
in love with a lot of his 80s song choices and would have preferred some more Beatles stuff. In contrast, I've seen McCartney one time and would definitely go see him again if the chance
arises. That said, that's just my personal opinion. The musicianship was amazing and I had a great time so I'm definitely not complaining.
