Richard Hugh "Ritchie" Blackmore (born 14 April 1945) is a British guitarist and songwriter,
who was known as one of the first guitarists to fuse Classical music elements with rock.
He fronted his own band Rainbow after leaving Deep Purple where he considered his favourite musical style wasn't adequately captured.
In the late 1990s he turned away from hard rock to concentrate instead on the traditional folk rock project Blackmore's Night,
which features his long-time girlfriend (now wife) Candice Night on vocals.~ wikipedi
