Tapers Notes:

OK, most jazz fans know that Robben Ford, Tom Scott, Toto, the
and Crusaders all had late night jam sessions at Donte's after
they finished their session work. All were recorded. All of them
supposedly were destroyed when a fire broke at Donte's in the 1980s,
leaving us with no record of these fabulous jam sessions.

So, from out of the vaults is a fresh cassette transfer of one of these
early morning jam session by these jazz greats. The tape is not Schoeps
quality, but with warts and all, this is one of my favorite shows from
that wonderful era. I'm not sure why the tape was labeled "Robben Ford,"
because it really is more of a Larry Carlton-Crusaders tape, but that's
how it was billed, that's how it was introduced, and that's how it was
labeled.

The dueling guitars of Carlton and Ford add a nice touch. In
addition, many of the songs morph into tracks which ended up
on LPs by the Crusaders and Larry Carlton. Help is needed to flesh out
the set list.

Don't bother thanking me. Instead, why not click the "Donate" button in
the upper right hand corner and actually give $5-20 to The Dime?

The true thanks go not to me, but to the taping community behind whose footsteps
I have followed, including those who have perfected the art of stealth
recordings, the makers of the stealthy mikes, cords, adapters, and preamps, and
those who have graciously shared their recording techniques.

I am merely a mike stand with a credit card and driver's license.

As always, I don't care what you do with these files, once you download
them--they are yours now, except these files are not for sale, free
trade only. You can thank me by uploading something of a similar genre
or trading with me, so I can.

Regards,

Scooter
