Drove from Athens, Ga and arrived after Todd had finished. Huge Todd fan so i was pretty bummed. Ran in, no search or anything which apparently other people encountered, got to our seats (Row Q little left of center right under a little pa speaker) and tried my best to get taping. Story goes, source 2 was strictly a backup with no intention of being used because my mics are worthless now and short out everytime i breath just about. So the result is tons of loud horrible staticy pops that my ruin a tape. My new mics didn't get here so i used them for fun. The reason it makes an appearance is i forgot to change batteries in my Edirol and noticed at about an hour in that they were about to die. When i turned it on i didn't press record until it pops back in. Sorry but hey i've done much more amateur things. I wasn't going to go back and splice it in but i said what the hell it'll be fun to hear the difference in the mics. So yeah that sucks but the show was AMAZING! Everyone seemed to be in a great mood. Of course there were those that needed to steal the spotlight every chance they could and for that may they all get a flat tire. Not very obnoxious on the recording but the last encore was an unplugged acoustic version of walkin' cane, to be followed by Live Forever (according to a setlist on Robertearlkeen.com.) I couldn't even hear from a few feet back because of the clapping, then stomping, then loud conversations, and i swear even 7-8 "cha cha cha's." So i turned off the recorders and moved up front to try and hear. I'm assuming they didn't play it because the crowd didn't enjoy the first one enough to be quiet. Despite that the show was amazing and i'm glad i was able to capture what i did. Robert Earl Keen made me forget in a song or two how bummed i was about missing Todd.
Enjoy. Don't Sell. Don't covert to lossy. Do buy Robert Earl Keen merchandise.
