The Robert Klein Radio Show - Comedy and Interviews with Dire Straits, Mink Deville and Doc Pomus - Air Date 1981-02-01 from pre-fm transcription discs

Dime's Applicability Statement: This torrent is music-related.

The Robert Klein Radio Show was a comedy/rock format which ran for about two years on mostly smaller rock radio stations. Similar in format to a Tonight Show, Mr. Klein would do some stand-up, then introduce tonight's guest or guests. The guests would talk about their current projects or about their particular visions on music, and some records would be spun or the artist would play live in the studio. Sometimes the live artist would not be interviewed, sometimes if there was more than one guest they might have a sort of comic round-table.

This particular program features interviews with Mark Knopfler and John Illsley from Dire Straits, Willie Deville from Mink Deville, and Doc Pomus. It's a fun time to listen to. You get some comedy and some unique perspectives on both bands. I had to remove the spun records in order to comply with Dime's rules, sorry about that.

This set was acquired at a local record store around the time period of this broadcast during a radio-station giveaway.
