::: SUPERB SBDs. Check samples for "folk no", "folk yeah", or "folk me, it's for real".
::: Warts: Repaired dullspots & dropouts but surely missed a few. Some "dead air" removed 'tween trax and/or taper cut off deck 'tween songs. Likely 1 or more songs are missing from the set. #01 fades in. #12 has faint bleedthru for ~2 seconds. #12&13 have a tiny bit of hum. #13 L channel/1st minute had major issues so went to mono & it's all fixed but for a slight image shift.
::: *DATE: The tape was undated, but is approximately correct. The filler is possibly from a bit earlier.
::: While The Brig folk club is long gone, the Adelhi pub is still operating today at the same premises.
::: Opening act(s) were generally "floor singers" (unpaid local performers who got the chance to sing in public).
::: Taped with permission of the artists.

Recording Information ::: soundboard -> Aiwa quarter track stereo reel-to-reel recorder -> master 7&1/2 ips stereo reel to reel tape -> 1st* generation cassette (*except #11-13 either 1st or 2nd generation).

Transfer Information ::: 1st* generation cassette -> unknown cassette recorder -> Boss 8-Track Digital Studio -> hard drive -> 44.1 kHz wav files.

Remastering 2017-04-xx ::: wavs -> Audacity [channel/phase alignment, fades, manual one-at-a-time glitch, bump, pop, click, dropout & dullspot repairs, volume adjustments, +0.6% averaged pitch (speed) fix with single pass after frequency analysis & with pitchpipe verification, NO equalisation or noise reduction] -> CD Wave (track splits) -> flacs (Trader's Little Helper) -> yr ears. First uploaded 2017-05-xx.

Line-up ::: Barry Dransfield - acoustic guitar, banjo, vocals // Robin Dransfield - acoustic guitar, vocals.

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

DimeTravel 350 ::: SINCERE thanks to the original taper, DIMER Paul Hutchinson ::: Corrections welcome ::: This one landed in my box & I can't remember being so ectatic about music in a long time. It was a hard to go to work the next day - just wanted to get home & crank 'er up. I love the released BBC In Concert show but there are only 5 trax. It's MUCH better to hear more than hour's worth of high quality material from one show. Cool set selection & some rarities - "Nobody's Wedding" was never recorded by the Dransfields tho' Barry played on the first outing of the song on Richard Thompson's, "Henry The Human Fly" & this is quite different. Who would ever have thought we'd get to hear a vintage LIVE version of "The Werewolf" (an early cover of the Michael Hurley song) which Barry featured on his outstanding 1972 self-titled first solo LP on the Folk Mill label. There are 4 from "Rout Of The Blues", including a fine 8 minute version of "The Trees They Do Grow High" (almost 3 minutes longer than their released version). There's one from "Lord Of All I Behold", plus an an early version of "It's Dark In Here", which was to later appear on the spectacular album by the Dransfield band, "The Fiddler's Dream". Barry plays some fiddle tunes which were on "Morris On" & there's a version of "When It's Night-Time In Italy, It's Wednesday Over Here" which Robin wasn't to release until 1980 on "Tidewave". The final tracks, turned out to be from another night of roughly the same vintage, a solo Barry show where Robin guested. No form of the Dransfields has ever released a cover of Sandy Denny's "John The Gun". Barry was joined by his brother for this one. We can hope that someday the entire show turns up. All in all, a remarkable selection by the dynamic duo. I love the psychedelic effects, used sparingly & subtly, that alter one's consciousness without intruding on the music. Really a stunning recording to hear - a dream come true for me. Surely there will be a few others out there who feel the same. Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yrs truly, Knees
