Total Time ::: 27:16

::: Music EXC FM quality with poor quality inbetween song dialogue edits. Check samples for autonomous audio observations or fleeting fanciful fun.
::: Warts: Virtually none, aside from hissy, noisy shortwave filler between songs. Probably missed a few dullspots.
::: NOTE: Stereo M1-FM had most all inbetween dialogue excised & late starts. Fortunately I had another complete version but unfortunately twas noisy mono shortwave & took hours to clean up as best I could. But hey, it's the Dransfields!
::: 1978-08-01 was probably the broadcast date (7-7:30PM) & not the actual live concert date.

Recording Information ::: BBC Radio 2 stereo FM broadcast -> unknown recording equipment -> master off-air stereo cassette -> 1st generation cassette.
(*) Inbetween missing dialogue bits ::: BBC mono shortwave broadcast -> unknown recording equipment -> master off-air normal bias cassette, no noise reduction.

Playback (date unknown) ::: 1st generation unknown type cassette, probably no noise reduation -> unkinown equipment -> Audition -> flac -> wav.
Playback 2013-04-01 ::: Maxell Super LN C60 Low Noise Cassette Tape on Nakamichi 680ZX cassette deck, Dolby B on, azimuth & speed adjusted (pitched!) for individual recording, heads cleaned & demagnetized -> Sony Linear PCM Recorder PCM-M10 -> LPCM 44.10kHz/16bit WAV files.

wavs -> computer -> Audacity (normalisation to remove DC offset, channel/phase alignment, fades, manual one-at-a-time glitch / dropout / bump / pop / click / dullspot repairs, volume adjustments, further speed fixes, NO equalisation) -> CD Wave (track splits) -> Trader's Little Helper -> yer ears. First uploaded week of 2013-06-16.

Line-up ::: Robin Dransfield - acoustic & electric guitars,

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.
special note : None of this used for the SUPERB "Up To Now" 2CD compilation or the STELLAR "Fiddler's Dream" expanded 2CD. Seek them out for more fine Robin & Barry.

CoolSonics 248 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! The shortwave recording courtesy of the illustrious Mr Smith & the real jewel of an upgrade of the musical portion is by way of an honourable & most generous DIMER who prefers anonimity. ::: Corrections welcome ::: Well, those of you who know what the story is will be jumpin' all over this & hopefully there will be some more out there who want to find out what's up & get exposed to some some righteous & far out folk. This set is less hallucinogenic than the Pindar Of Wakefield show I put up, but it is better quality & quite interesting. For one thing, as far as I know, most people have only ever had this as a sorry ass shortwave version (though damn lucky to have had it at all). Here you are now blessed with a lesser circulated excellent stereo FM version which was only blighted by bad edits & missing dialogue & that material has now been patched in here from the shortwave recording (which was worked on for many hours) to provide lucky DIMERs with a complete version of the broadcast. Should be just the ticket for compiling with some other treasures that are being unearthed by these fine gents. Enjoy!

Kudos to Zongo for life support, Lochner for mikes&more & Fast Freddie for runnin' Video Dick's Record Emporium with the bathroom office full of tape decks. Mountains of gratitude to Davmar, D.White, Sanchez, Elliot, The Florida Kid, Kloiber, Zingg, JTW, Bershaw, Boston Gold, Dixon, Moore, Gough & SO many more for all that collecting & sharing... Royal thanks to The Man In The Palace, Doc Tinker, Brinkhoffs, Barely Eatin', Reel Master Gaule, Parrish & all the traders who housed me thru my music acquisition & travel years. Hats off to Brother Kent, Uncle Jake, Little Queenie (& her neighbor Frank) & his honor Ptomaine Thomas. Glasses raised to Byron for musical horizon expansion & much obliged to J & Thurston for keepin' my concert fires burnin' since my continental shift. Thanks to the Mods for keepin' DIME alive. Enjoy, share, give, spread peace. Yers truly, Knees
