This is Trower’s not much –it at all - circulated, though perhaps “biggest” show as a headliner ever (correct me please if I’m wrong). Seems he reached his all-time popularity high with his tour to back “Long Misty Days”.

Too, this is the longest 70’s show known to me; most of his shows back then clocked in at 70-80 min. but this here runs c. 85 min. in total (with a few minutes of the last track S.M.O. even missing). Robin obviously decided to do a slightly longer set on this occasion, perhaps in view of the huge crowd and the extra-prestigious venue. BTW, he never would return; when he played NYC again on October 17, 1977 it was down to the Radio City Music Hall. Seems by that time his last few no-so-well received albums had taken their toll... (Just guessing, ‘course).

Please note that they did Rodent Stewart’s “Sailing” from “Long Misty Days” on this show here, the only live performance I know of.

The dub is off the master, according to my source.
By the way, Wishbone Ash supported, also their only ever Madison Square Garden appearance.

I am happy to share this in so many ways unique show.
