Every time I've seen Robin Trower, the vocalist has been pretty low in the mix. Getting a recording with a decent vocal is already enough of a gamble when you like to record from up front, as I tend to, so this kind of mix just makes matters worse. ******I'm warning everyone now...THERE IS BARELY AN AUDIBLE VOCAL ON THIS RECORDING!!!!****** Some would consider this a wasted effort, but I don't agree. The guitar tone on this recording is so sweet, it almost sounds like a soundboard with the guitar mics cranked to the max. If you're not a guitarist or you've never seen a major guitar hero in a club from the front row, you might be suprised to know that the tone that comes DIRECTLY FROM THE AMPS is the frickn' real deal, the true tone is not represented by what comes out of the amps. If you love Trower and want to hear what its like to stand in the front row and get blasted by Robin's Sonic Fury, check this out. But, this is probably for collectors only.
